The Wisconsin Association of School Boards has designated Oct. 6-12 as WISCONSIN SCHOOL BOARD APPRECIATION WEEK- a time to raise awareness and understanding of the vital function an elected board of education pays in our communities. Grantsburg School District recognizes the important work our school board members do for us all year long. Even though we make a special effort in October, their contributions are year-round commitments. Thank-you to Dave Dahlberg, President; Brian Handy, Vice-President; Renae Rombach, Clerk; Liz Shultz, Treasurer; Jason Burkman, Director; Peter Denn, Director; and Colleen Lade, Director for your collective 47+ years of commitment to our schools!

Our 1st graders have been learning all about the human body. As part of their unit, they also learned about germs! Mrs. Stomberg's class used glitter to demonstrate how quickly germs can spread! Then they practiced the hand washing techniques in their lesson to remove all those glittery "germs"!

Mrs. Vilstrup's class has been busy learning the first few days of school. They used twin pops to help us count by 2s and retold fables with stick puppets.

Consistent school attendance plays a crucial role in a child's social development! Every day at school is an opportunity to build friendships, strengthen social skills, and foster a sense of belonging.
By showing up each day, students learn the value of teamwork, communication, and the importance of being part of a community. Let's work together to ensure our students are present and thriving, both academically and socially! 💪

Grantsburg's bus contractors and drivers meet annually prior to school starting for an in-service with staff to share information pertinent to their role in serving our students. This year, they were also recertifying in adult and infant CPR and AED. Our contractors stay current in safety and health procedures as well as bus inspection and maintenance. Our team of contractors and drivers is the BEST!!
