This week has been established by the WI School Bus Association as School Bus Driver Appreciation Week! This commemorative week recognizes all school transportation personnel who are involved in the highest standards of safe practices to assure the protection of their passengers, our state's most precious cargo- its children. In Wisconsin, there are more than 12,000 school bus drivers who safely transport more than 400,000 students to and from school each day and travel a total average of 144 million miles per year. This week is an excellent opportunity for students, parents, teachers, administration and our community to show appreciation to these dedicated individuals. These drivers are true heroes ensuring our children have a safe and reliable ride to an and from school every day. We are honored to recognize our drivers and contractors!
