Cheddar the Therapy Dog

We are excited to have welcomed Cheddar, a trained and friendly therapy dog, to GHS!  Ms. Koerper has worked diligently to train and certify Cheddar to provide our students with a range of emotional and psychological support.

Therapy dogs have proven to be valuable assets in educational settings, offering a wide range of emotional and psychological benefits to students. Cheddar will be available to interact with our students during designated times, offering them the following benefits:

1. Stress Reduction: Cheddar's calming presence can help reduce stress and anxiety, especially during challenging times like exams and assessments.

2. Emotional Support: Cheddar is a non-judgmental and friendly companion who will be there to offer emotional support and comfort during difficult moments.

3. Improved Mood: Interactions with therapy dogs have been shown to boost mood and increase feelings of happiness and well-being.

4. Enhanced Social Skills: Cheddar's presence encourages social interactions among students and fosters a sense of community within the school.

5. Increased Focus and Concentration: Spending time with a therapy dog can improve concentration and attention, which can be especially helpful for students with attention-related challenges.

We are thrilled to welcome Cheddar to our high school and look forward to witnessing the positive impact he and Ms. Koerper will have on our students.

WELCOME Cheddar!
